Financial Education Conference Day 1

Updated: Apr 11, 2018

Fantastic first day at the Annual Conference on Financial Education. Thanks to Rachel for inviting me.

Jeanette Bennett and Barbara Flowers from the Reserve Bank of St Louis outlined the national standards and showed some of the free resources they have developed.
Jackie Morgan gave a vivacious presentation on other Federal Reserve resources.
Laura Matchett from Next Gen Personal Finance had me convinced about early investment and we got to play at investing in the stock market. Finally Catherine Mueller shared her research on student loans via Twitter. Over the day other people told me about great support materials, including Finance in the Classroom, Wall St Survivor, Jump$tart, Smart Money Smart Kids, Life Happens, Interactive ways to teach Financial Literacy, and the University of Arizona resources.

In the evening I attended the EIFLE Awards, and was delighted to see one of the organisations I visited, CPA Canada, receive international recognition here.
