I had the privilege of talking with Ventura Pacheco Esteban from the Instituto Ensenanza Secundaria Palomeras about financial literacy in the curriculum in Spain. There is some work around percentages and best buys and he showed me a full Chapter from a book for 16-17 year olds. Much more is done in Economics, but this is an elective. He showed me is blog, and some websites for Mathematics that I had not seen before including thatquiz, voki and wiris. Ventura keeps lots of information in his own blog. I was also allowed to watch a lesson on graphing functions with vertical, horizontal and oblique asymptotes!
