Updated: Mar 20, 2018

The Grote Geld Show was filmed on Wednesday of the Week van het Geld, and shown on Saturday evening on a public television channel. The show featured children who tested as having one of 4 types of financial behaviour; savers, entrepreneurs, slackers and big spenders. They competed as groups of 15, answering questions about money. There were also interviews and examples of experience interspersed with the questions.

The show gave students the opportunity to touch a gold bar, and one of the hosts presented the winning team with their prize in a $10,000 outfit made from real 50 euro bills (pictured). You can watch the show here.

Promtion for the show read: How much pocket money do children receive on average in the Netherlands? How much does it cost if you are in the shower for ten minutes? And how much money do you earn per hour if you are going to fill your subjects? Program in which children learn everything about money, presented by Sanne Wallis de Vries. The central issue is a revealing quiz in which questions are asked about money. The results of the Junior Money Survey will also be presented in the show and three young talents will give tips on how to become successful. Tim den Besten portrays children with a personal money story, who then ask advice from money doctor Sander Schimmelpenninck. Both heavy and light topics are covered such as: How long will it take before my parents are out of debt repayment? How do I get money if I'm not old enough for a job? The money doctor gives explanations and offers creative solutions. https://www.vpro.nl/jeugd/speel~VPWON_1270162~de-grote-geldshow-de-quiz~.html
