This group has several driving goals, one of which is the success of Global Money Week. CYFI offer branding and certificates for the local organisation of GMW events around the world. Schools and community groups register with the GMW site and run an event with their support. These are then reported on and published in the GMW report each year.
Events across the globe are incredibly varied, but include students ringing the bell to open the stock exchange, visits to money museums, cake decorating competitions, youth forums, classroom activities, guest speakers, bank visits, money box design competitions, debates, and markets.
Global money week was modelled on the Dutch money week, which first ran in 2009. CYFI had space in the Dutch Central Bank, but recently moved to Central Amsterdam. Their other goals revolve around Financial Inclusion, School Bank and the Ye program (youth entrepreneurship).
